YAY!

You guys did it! Very fun route, eh? Fukking rope epics. Blah. We had our issue with a stuck rope with a storm on top of us up there. Love the summit photos!

Re: YAY!

Thanks gurly, I really like the summit photos as well. That was definately the icing on the cake. Would do it again for sure...

Re: Loved the read

Thanks, I would love to make writing a profession some day. Climb a lot, tell epics... ah what a job! I guess there is that spelling thing though... You are definately right though, it was a great day.

Re: Good job

Most definately, that is why I like climbing with Larissa. Thanks for the comment!

Knott again!!!!

You guys look like you had a great time, despite the stuck rope. The same thing happened on that route to me and gurly. Like you, I had to ascend the rope and move the knot past the lip. So learn from us, ye who would leave the knott above.

Re: Knott again!!!!

Your are right. Now that the word is out, hopefully people will avoid this somewhat common issue on Zowie. Then again, Zowie is a perfect spot for a mini-epic and problem solving techniques... :)

You too?

Someone should extend the webbing on the anchors. I had the exact mini-epic the following weekend! Our knots were caught on the lip & we couldn't pull the ropes - had to climb back up...

Re: You too?

That is wierd! Did you not see the red-webbing I left behind? I had a friend climb it last weekend and he used the webbing I left behind to avoid this problem. Unless someone took it down, it should still be there...

Re: You too?

We saw the webbing & were a bit confused. It hung almost 3 feet over the edge & was just a single piece - we thought that it was for stepping into as aiders while getting over the steep edge. Of course that was before the rope got stuck! In hind-sight, your webbing makes sense now.

There are similar reports over at MP.com as well...

Re: You too?

I guess that I should have beefed it up a little more, but was not planning on having to fix an anchor, so I did not bring any rap rings or two peices of webbing. It does stick out quite a ways over the lip, but this is the only way I could figure out how to eliminate the friction. Glad that you had a good time and got everything worked out though...
