Nice trip report... I also remember all to well getting to the top of the ridge above the U-notch and realizing that we would not make the summit that day. I had been nursing a broncial infection that "bloomed" that afternoon on the ridge. I told my partners to go ahead to the summit, but they insisted on turning back with me to descend. It would be another year before I reached that summit.

Re: Great readAll I can say is, go back and do it again. It's worth it. A very spectacular mountain and some very fun alpine climbing.
