Re: Real perty!Thanks Noondueler....I went up Signal Mt to find some big wildlife (my twin saw a bear and cub, moose and elk there the night before). All I could find was this guy. Later on down the road near camp I found some elk and prong horn. Thanks for the comment and the vote. Happy Trails

PtarmiganIs a grouse the same as a ptarmigan? They look very much alike. Anyway, great photo!

Re: PtarmiganGood question. I checked and the biggest difference is the tail. A ptarmigan has a narrow tail and a grouse can put it's tail feathers out much like a turkey. As for which one this falls under I don't know. I was looking for Bears and Moose that day so I did not hang out long enough to find out which one this bird is.
