A Hike Through the Garden

A Hike Through the Garden

Sheryl, Cody and Wylie hike along the trail just before we decided to scramble our way to the summit on the western side of Valley of Boulders in Charon's Garden Wilderness, OK. The summit rock can be clearly seen in the image near the top, right. It's easily ascended after a bushwhack to a saddle off the image to the right, then a gentle scramble up the backside to the high point. Imaged in June 2007.

Re: A good plug

Ah, the hat! This was, in fact, a Scouting event. We just went back last weekend, too. Charon's Garden Wilderness is really a neat place--something one wouldn't expect in Oklahoma.

Here's another good plug for Scouting, BTW: Four Eagles (Scouts), an Apple and a Pear. It was shot just a few minutes after the above image.

Have a good one, Merrill! --mark d.
