The Ausangate east face has some wild ice! This is somewhere on the lower slopes of the glacier. 5 June 2011.

It's always interesting to walk on a wild glacier. I absolutely love the scenery, but seeing something like this also reminds me that there might be something like this lurking just below my feet, covered by a flimsy snow bridge ...
