A new friend

This hike introduced me to Oquihhr the wonder dog. He became my friend as we often led the way through the tick infested landscape. Final tick count: Me - 7 Oquihhr - 1 Greg & Kadee zero Hmmmm, that total really ticked me off.

Interesting!

I wouldn't suspect this as tick country; goes to show my ignorance. We look for grasses and forest on the east coast. Learned something today!

Guess it's cause you're so attractive Dean!

Re: Interesting!

Generally if there are a lot of wild horses in an area or antelope, you often will find ticks. I haven't seen as many ticks in Nevada as some places (missouri for instance or eastern washington) but they need to be watched for in the spring.

Re: Ticks

I know about your weather since I have a brother who lives in BigFork. His house sits close to the lake and he is very concerned about flooding. Big snow year all over the west with lots of bad weather.

Re: Ticks

My brother in northern Utah (Tooele) told me
that Spring had just barely arrived in the
Oquirrhs; possibly preventing a catastrophic
flood there.

Different story in Arizona. The state is as dry as a dog bone. Oquirrh's dog bone ???

Eleven wildfires were burning at last count.
