A picture of my summit of...

A picture of my summit of Mount Elbert. After making the summit, I sat on the south east slope just feet below the summit to shield myself from the snow and wind (just to get this shot for my summit post photo log). It was ZERO visibility on the top!!! It snowed about 15 inches that day. October 9th, 2005.

Elbert

We were on the summit 2 days earlier on the 7th and it was beautiful. We knew the weather was coming in and headed for Denver for a flight out. Must have been wild up there in a snow storm. Glad you made it down.

Re: Elbert

Ya, me too. The storm came in real fast. We checked the forecast before we went and they were only predicted to get 2 inches. We had a “window” and we went for it. It was not until the way down it let loose. Glad we packed the proper gear. Regardless, it was a cool hike. Thanks for the post.

Oh the memories

I will never forget sitting there behind the rocks. I still have no feeling in the tips of my toes.

Re: Oh the memories

I guess we need to try something higher to see if it returns!!! Be safe over there!
