This explains the bandage on your hand in your recent FB album =/. I will be wary of rattly chock stones from now on! Thanks for another well-written and exciting trip report; I've learned a lot from your collection.
Thank you, that is pretty meaningful to me, it's pretty much why I wrote this one up...to jog my memory in the future about danger and also share the story in the hopes it offers some protection to my fellow alpine types!
Ouch, yeah, I liked that description of an accident for me...for my special situation anyway. I suppose it's because I feel some responsibility for it. I look back, trying to find things I should have done differently. From that perspective, it looked like there were little "escape hatches" or chances to do things a little bit differently. Probably a rock out of nowhere doesn't really fit into the same category. THanks for the note!
"An accident can happen to anybody at any time." - Yeah, that's a very good lessons. Reminds me quickly to Cyrill and/or my last trip to Ecrins hanging unroped with the ass 800 Meters over the south face.
This advice should be more a mantra on every climbing trip!

Re: Wuhaaa...Thanks Sebastian. Yeah...we can't just pay "lip service" to the danger of the mountains. It is a real problem. Still, climb on and well!

My, oh my...thank goodness that fixed cam held and you guys made it off alright. I guess it goes without saying, but beware of the 'often wet' chimneys, eh?

Re: My, oh my...For sure. A bit more paranoia and skepticism would have been good!
