Spanning more than 3000 sq.km at an average altitude of 4200m above sea level, Deosai Plains is one the highest plateaus in the world. The word Deosai means 'land of the giants' in local language. Deosai National Park is a designated sanctuary for the endangered Himalayan Brown Bears.
