Aiguille du Midi WNW face

From L to R: Pointe 3550, Aiguille du Midi (3842 m), Pointe 3760, Pointe 3731, Pointe 3613 and Pointe 3606. The Pointe 3550 is known as 2nd Spur. Its route to Aiguille du Midi is graded AD+ and was first climbed by C Dent, J Oakley Maund with J Jaun and K Maurer in August 1879. Refuge des Cosmiques (3613 m) can be glimpsed to the right of the Pointe 3731. Taken at nightfall from near Le Bourgeat. 27 July 2010.
