Re: Alam Chal GlacierLooking at the maps that I have recently acquired, it makes more sense to say that this picture was taken from the summit of Takhte Soleyman Peak and not Alam Kouh. I would identify the peak on the left as Chaloon (4516 m), the peak on the right edge of the picture as Siah Sang (4604 m) and the lower mountain in front of Siah Sang as Mian Se Chal (4348 m). Of course I have not been there and can't be sure.

Re: Alam Chal Glacier - you are rightThe picture has been taken from TakhteSoleiman(4659) or TakhtChal, TakhtChal exists north-west to Miansechal and this fits to the image, TakhteSoleiman exists north-west to Miansechal but more far. Anyway the camera had been on north-west position to the summits, the picture is south-east faces...
Right summit is SiahSang(4604m) - Left summit is Chaloun(4516m) - Very left, the ridge ends up to SiahKamaan(4504) that is not shown in the picture - the ridge that can be seen on the other side of Chaloun(south-east side to Chaloun) ends up to Pasandkouh(4350m) - rocky summit in the middle-right is Miansechal(4348m).

Re: Alam Chal Glacier - you are rightThanks for the info. I tried to send you an e-mail (stormwind fu@yahoo.com) but it did not go through. If you are interested, send me an e-mail so that I can send you a map of the Kholeno/Paloun Gardan area.
