Overview

The Snowy peak-holes (Sniezne Kotly in Polish) lie in t he heart of the Karkonosze Mountains, south-west part of Poland.
The Karkonosze Mountains are also known as Giant mountains or Riesengebirge in German.
The mountains itselves are no higher than 1602 m (the highest peak - Sniezka), but the Snowy peak-holes are 300m high ice/snow walls and are a great place for winter climbing.

Getting There

Before getting into the mountains, you need yo get to Jelenia Gora which is close to.
You need to fly to Wroclaw (just over 100km from Jelenia Gora), than you can take a train or bus straight to Jelenia Gora.
The buses run every hour, trains every 2-3 hours.
You can also get there by car from Wroclaw, Zielona Gora or Prague.

Red Tape

The Snowy peak-holes (Sniezne Kotly) are a national reserve and climbing is only permited in January/February.
It is closed for the climbers for the rest of the year.
It is also situated in the Karkonosze National Park so there is an entry fee.

Camping

No camping allowed as it is a national park.
It is possible to stay at the mountain hut nearby (Schronisko pod Smielcem).

Good Idea...

...but I was thinking about Sniezne Kotly as a part of Wielki Szyszak/Velky Sisak (1509 m).
And definitely the page need more info- are you going to add some other sections?
I may help you with some info if you like.

Looks more like a trip report

As Jacek wrote, it was a good idea to write this page. Now it looks more like a trip report than a mountain page. If this page is an album or a trip report, I give it in its present state 10 points. As a mountain page it receives only 8 in its present form. Heavily need more info. But I really appreciate your photos from your winter ascent. According to your photos it was stunning, wasn´t it? Don´t hesitate to contact Jacek or turistoalpinista or Romuald Kosina or Tomek Lodowy for more info and decide whether to give them editing rights to push the quality of the text more towards its perfectness.
