There is less snowthan in summer on Glockner. How did your trip succeed?

Re: There is less snowIndeed there was not much snow. Even at the softer places we only went knee deep into the snow.
It was very cold, maybe below -20°C. After we got onto the ridge leading to Erzherzog Johann hütte, strong winds came and almost blew us away. Furthermore, clouds gathered around the peak, so at the hut we decided to turn back. We just didn't want to appear in the monday morning news...
Next time... I don't know if this winter, or autumn, but definitely not summer because of crowds.
If we choose autumn, I think we will try Stüdlgrat to make it more exciting.
