Alpenglow on the tip of Cerro Castelan

Alpenglow on the tip of Cerro Castelan

I happened to be passing by as the sun set and got this view of Cerro Castellan. The peak is called "Castolon" in English, apparently because Anglos can't spell. It gives its name to the Castolon region of Big Bend National Park. January 2010.

Re: Whatcha mean

Is our children learning?

That one puzzled me, Lairee. The local ranchers were Anglos but invariably bilingual because they relied on Mexicans for ranch hands. Certainly they knew what a Castelan was.

Re: Whatcha mean ?

Well sir, I reckon I ain't got nuthin' left to say regarding dat issue.

'Cept for, me thinks dat the public school system and the Federal government are both
hopelessly & udderly BROKEN.
