You are lucky

You are lucky with these Rhododendrons. Perhaps it1s not such miraculous for you, but last time I have seen wild Rhododendrons (arboretums don't count) in flower approximately 30 yeras ago, and since then I dream to see them again. But never lucky: rarely when I find one, it is not in flower

Re: You are lucky

The best time in the year to see the rhododendrons - as well as all the other typically alpine flowers - is end of June/beginning of July, at least in the Alps. July 12th - the day I was on the Zittrauer Tisch - is actually already a bit on the late side. Yet, sure enough, I was still pretty lucky, there were still many to be seen in full bloom!
Cheers,
Eric
