You were

in a plane flying over the Alps
in Europe? Where did your plane
take off from, and then land at??
Seems like the pilot would have
told you where the plane was going.

The route through the Alps was only part of a long day. I knew the general route but was sitting there frozen solid as a popsicle - the plane's heat had failed and it's pretty cold at altitude over the Alps in January. If the situation would have been different I'd have been following along on the maps and probably would have gotten more photos.

a mission? The alps look cold in January.

Yep, military. Air National Guard. We were just on our way back to the U.S.
