Thanks Brenta for jogging my memories of growing up in Boulder, my brother and I used to "go camping" up Skunk Canyon quite a bit in the summers of my youth. Another interesting [at least to me] tidbit, my first official job was working for the Boulder Rangers, where for $.50 cents per hour, crews of 13-15 year old kids built sections of, and did trail maintenance on the Mesa, and other trails in the newly [at that time] formed Green Belt. It sounds like maybe some of the upper trails could benefit from another incarnation of "The Rangers". [Circa 1969]
Thanks Again;
Tim
I have the impression that the Skunk Canyon trail has seen no maintenance in many years and that it is very unlikely to see any in the foreseeable future given the attitude of Boulder's governance of limiting access to the city open space as much as they can get away with. (This is not related to raptor closures.)
I'm glad this page brought back some good memories. Thanks for letting me know.
