Re: Beautiful photos!Mary had dropped me off on the dirt road 1.4 miles before the north trailhead of West Rim. By the time I reached this spot, I had already hiked 14.2 miles. I had not seen a single person during the first 13 miles of the hike and was now faced with this big crowd. We were staying in Cedar City, Utah and still had a long drive back. I was tired and did not want to deal with the crowd so I did not climb this. Now I think I should have.

Re: Beautiful photos!Sound decision on your part. Even on the best of circumstances this is a sketchy section to complete. It's a bit scary and people have lost their lives going for it.
