approaching Gable Mountain
The expansive bulk of Gable Mountain as viewed from the snowy slopes near Otatso Creek. The sheer cliffs of the summit block hold two prominent light bands of rock. From this point, we aimed just left of the pointy sub-summt (in front of and to the left of the actual summit). Our route continued across the snow, where we eventually crossed Otatso Creek and climbed east of a prominent waterfall. From there, a series of open slopes and one loose class II gully led us to relatively solid ground below and to the left of the sub-summit. The route to the top becomes obvious from there.
