Approaching the Bolam Camp

Approaching the Bolam Camp

March 26, 2010 - Me enjoying our first full view of the Bolam Glacier on Mt Shasta. The summit sports a lenticular cloud that was left over from a storm that had passed through earlier in the week. The cloud disappeared and winds died down before we chose to ascend higher. Ultimately we made camp about 100 yards ahead and to the right, against the inside bend of a low ridge in a gully. The hole in the lenticular cloud was a bubble of air burrowing through, which I believe was vortex shedding occurring off of the summit. Photo by Tom Bennett
