At the foot

At the foot, close to where we set BC. Altitude about 5300m. No shelter from the strong winds anywhere, but running water from the glaciers on warmer days. The line we climbed is straight up the sharp ridge at the center of the peak.

The silence - it was wonderful not to hear anything that reminded you of civilization for weeks and weeks. You can probably also imagine the starlit nights without any light pollution whatsoever. Breathtaking.
