Me, making my standard State Highpoint salute to my favorite hockey team at the summit of Mount Mitchell, the highest point in North Carolina and the highest point east of the Mississippi River. This was during the first day of my Southern Appalachian Loop Trip, during which I summited six State Highpoints and multiple other peaks during Memorial Day weekend 2009. Mount Mitchell was the 35th State Highpoint I had summited. Photo taken on May 23, 2009.
