Some pictures as a basic route info
We attempted to traverse Urus Central (Cordillera Blanca, Peru) across both summits from east to west. Turned around after the first summit due to the late hour.
Expect a lot of mixed climbing with snow up to 80° and vertical rock up to grade V. Often very loose rock. Climbers must be comfortable to climb that grade with crampons. Estimated difficulty: TD
The slopes south of Urus Central (the higher summit being the left one).
Approach to the inner snow couloir.
Lower part of the snow couloir, about 50°.
Upper part of the snow couloir, about 80°.
Trying to find a way to the ridge proper.
Exposed traverse to gain the ridge.
Grade V cracks lead up to the ridge.
On top of the ridge leading to the first, minor summit (center).
On the snow slopes below the minor summit.
On the minor summit. Potential route to the true summit in red (vertical rock in the summit wall; dihedral on the left side looked most promising).
