Great idea and impressive sequence!
That is very cool!
with the animation!
Cheers, once I worked out how to make animated gifs in Photoshop it was a doddle to put together.
Thanks. This mountain face is renowned for being dangerous and hopefully this sequence helps explain why! Amazingly the first ascent was made via this way.
in september 2006 i had the same experience. It was such a horrible scene coming down the avalance, just like the mountain is falling down, we had no place to hide for saftey except the hut, so we sit inside saying ALLAH, and the last pressure took away the roof sheets, however our lives were safe. there was almost 6inch snow covered at the bc after the storm was ended. Me. 2 japense and the hut owner, when we reached in afternoon, back to Karim abad, many people congratulated us, as the storm was heard and scence from karimabad as well. I have only 2 shots of the scene in my camera, from the beginning part not the end, because in the end we were inside the hut. Memorials of Japense climber Hasegawa san at the basecamp also stand as a witness of the strength of avalance falling from the straight angle of Ultar.
Wouldn't wish to stand in a way of this avalanche. Good idea of animated gif! Cheers Tomas :)
great idea for a gif though.
so cool. :-)
it was beatifull idea
This really gives us quite an impression of the dimension of that enormous avalanche!
