June 1993 a few hours. Sept/Oct 2020 spent two and a half days hiking 29 miles.
Had a perfect day for hiking through a canyon on the Notch Trail with my wife. The only place we have seen like this is Toadstool Geologic Park in NW Nebraska.
Can't seem to find a page on here for the Badlands National Park highpoint, Red Shirt Table (3340+ft), so I'll sign here. Used the topo here to find it http://www.peakbagger.com/peak.aspx?pid=6249. Yay for my 9th National Park highpoint!
Our family had a great time in this National Park. We hiked the Notch Trail and the kids loved it.
Great shots of the kids running around the Badlands. Fun experience overall
Highpointing trip in 2012. I could spend a couple of years hiking around this place. Cool feelings...
I hiked around a bit off-trail with my Dad about 9 years ago.
Followed the white river in and explored, Excellent hiking opportunities!
Enjoyed the place. Especially at sunset/sunrise.
Weather in June was spectacular! Perfectly warm, and not too many bugs. I hope to visit often that time of year in the future...
It was 105 degrees when we got here so we limited our hiking to the shaded side of the mounds of dirt ot whatever they call them here. My son and I scrambled one of mounds with a couple of sticks in our hands that we used like ice axes.
This was my 3rd or 4th time there, hiked all the established trails and also a few days of hiking in the Sage Creek campground area. Saw a herd of about 100 bison there one morning.
Very cool place, My family got our tent destroyed in a evening wind storm and had to spend the night in a cramped van, fun but not fun.
Scenic is not so scenic. Next time I hope to actually get to Deer Haven.
