with Jon and Simon from Reno. Snowshoed up from Donner Summit to shoulder of Castle, and then traversed along ridge. A front was coming in, so we got blasted with wind on the ridge. Great views !
Skinned up the South face after dropping Castle. Moved onto Andesite after a short stay at the PG hut.
Climbed after Castle Peak.
"Short-cut" to Devils Oven Lake..
Climbed with Castle and Andesite
Lots of trail action - you can spend hours out here (and we did).
Enjoyed the nice trail run from Castle with Baker.
Quick jaunt from Castle Peak.
Fun day hike (snowshoe)! Beautiful in the winter..
Decided to do some recon on the chutes to the East of the ridge between Castle and Basin. Now where is the f'n snow...
Cold and windy. Did hike with Laura. Some good views of future peaks to climb.
Bagged it along with Castle Peak with Rad. No pen in the register, so I tried using blood, which didn't work well, charcoal from a match, also didn't work well, then finally carved out my name in the cardboard of the booklet.
I climbed this before traversing to Castle Peak, making an enjoyable half-day, with the dog. There was a little bit of recent snow on the ground.
Nice Long Ridge from Castle Peak. Hiked with Castle and Andesite.
I hiked this peak from Castle Peak with my girlfriend and dog as part of a day hike.
Did this together with Castle Peak. Beautiful, calm day.
Bagged this peak along with Castle Peak. The ridge between Basin and Castle was mostly snow free, but the wind was howling! The summit of the peak was still covered in snow, as was the final ascent. Excellent standing glissades on the way back. Great hike in combo with Castle.
This was one of my favourite snowshoe outings of the winter, mostly because it was very short.
This was a fun snowshoe day with Matthew, visiting also Castle Peak and Andesite Peaks. It's a very easy walk (even in snowshoes) from Castle Peak. Trip Report
