Bataan Memorial Death March

Bataan Memorial Death March

Water misters provide relief to the 4,300+ participants of the 19th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. The 26.2 mile course ranges in elevaton between 4,050 to 5,400 feet over a combination of paved roads and dirt and sand roads and trails through the Chihuahuan Desert. This photo shows the section of the route just prior to circling around Mineral Hill in the southern San Andres Mountains. Photo taken 3/30/08.

Another great photo ...

Gotta love those water misters, Ray!
There's a lot of people that seem to
knock or criticize technology and its so-
called "advancements," and I am one of
them. But in this case, you can't have
people dropping like flies because of
the heat and arid conditions. Who are
the organizers of this reinactment???
I would like to write a letter to them
personally, and THANK them for putting
this on. We must never lose sight of our
historic values, right Ray? THANKS!!!

The water mister.....this is where you slow down to enjoy it! White Sands Missile Range and the NMSU ROTC Dept. are the organizers.
