Bear Closure Area

Signs like these are common in the park, and can have a profound impact on your plans. Yet another reason to check in advance with the local Rangers—they'll advise you of particular area closures, and the length of time the closure is expected to last. Sometimes, if a bear is raising her cub(s) in the area, it can last all summer. Occasionally, mama bear will raise her family in the same area year after year.
