Beauty Among the Ugliness

"Eagle Canyon Pinnacle" at dawn. No, this is not some pristine desert spring reflecting a sandstone tower. It is a rain-filled depression in the median of I-70 near the bridge spanning Eagle Canyon. For a change, the ugliness of the highway (although this highway is not too ugly as far as highways go) became something beautiful. San Rafael Swell, UT-- October 2010

Nevertheless, the couch can be a cold, lonely
place at night.

Unless, of course, you have a constant supply
of Yule logs and a fresh beaker of spiced eggnog on the ready.
