"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

East SlopePeakbug and I climbed this to make our 52nd new/unrepeated summit of the year, successfully completing our peak-a-week goal for 2013! Our journey was longer than expected due to the seasonal road closure, but it was easy enough. It was a nice day despite some wind and deeper snow near the summit. I had to stop on our descent to wring out my socks, because I wore shoes instead of boots.

#52 Beaver MountainSunny and windy on the summit of Beaver Mountain. Fun, off-trail hike with rkymtn through some deep snow at the top.

From Upper Beaver MeadowsIt was a heavy snow year because there was a significant amount of snow higher up on the mountain. The mountain is actually a highpoint on a ridge branching out from Trail Ridge Road.

South SlopesThis is an infrequently visited summit, so if you want to avoid the crowds in The Park this might be the summit for you.
Total ascents = 3 ... twice from the Windy Gulch Trail via the south slopes, and once from Trail Ridge Road via Tombstone Ridge on the way to Upper Beaver Meadows.

East Slope RouteHiked the East Slope route from Upper Beaver Meadows Trailhead. It rained almost the entire time, but was enjoyable nonetheless.
