Beckler Peak Highpoints

From its east summit, looking west at the other highpoint contenders of Beckler Peak (5062' elevation), located in Wild Sky Wilderness of Washington. The west summit is a forested summit shown at the left side of this photo. The middle summit is the tallest rocky outcrop at the center of the photo. Mount Baring can be seen in the background-center of the photo, and Merchant Peak and Gunn Peak can each be seen in the background-right of the photo. Photo taken on February 15, 2010.

Ridge Top

This is an exciting view. I wish I didn't have to work yesterday so I could have come along.

Very scary

Under that snow where the slide is at there is a huge slick rock slab. That is one dangerous face for snow slides given the angle and location. One climber could trigger that whole thing off.

Sometimes looking at snow skews perceptive things like steep angles, but because this is nearly a side-view that steepness can be seen quite well. You are correct... it certainly does not help that it is one gigantic slab underneath!
