Would be good if the legend was readable...

Yellow; Proterozoic Moine schists and psammites
Light green; Proterozoic Dalradian schists and psammites
Purple-blueish (South); Silurian and Ordovician sand- and mudstones
Light Blue; Carboniferous sand-, mud-, and Limestones as well as coal
Orange; Devonian Sandstones
Magenta; Carboniferous Lavas
Red; pre-Carboniferous granites, as well as pre-Devonian Gabbros (Cairngorms)
Pink; Archaean Lewisian gneisses (VERY OLD rocks!!!)
Army-green; Proterozoic Torridonian sandstones
Brownish (Skye and Mull) Tertiary lavas

Also;

The tops of the Nevis Range (>700-900 metres) consist of Andesite, which is not on this map
