Re: Busiest Mountain I've ever done

Let me gig-wise bring down the count again. 3 weeks ago on Grauspitz (Liechtenstein), 4-6 people to the summit for the whole day. So think about this summit if you are keen on solidarity.

with friends  Sucess!

as two days before was really bad weather on today´s way up it was pretty busy with lots of people going up and down. It looked like everyone wants to be on the top. At the start of the walk we´got some showers, then all way up and down nice weather with great views and on the top snowing with ice. What could you wish more :-)

Back in Inverlochy at 8:45 a.m.  Sucess!

Started from Inverlochy and ascended on the normal route. I did the ascent from the trailhead in 2 hours and the descent in 1:45 hours. I overtook everybody and was the first on the peak on this day. It was almost constantly raining - no visibility. Back for breakfast in Inverlochy at 8:45 a.m.

Ben Nevis  Sucess!

Walked up via normal route (in Sandals) while on the way cycling through the highlands from Glasgow to Edinburgh between two business dates.
Summit itself was in clouds, but nice weather throughout the trip.

Standard Route  Sucess!

Climbed after completing the West Highland Way. An incredible week... An inch of snow at sea level made for an fun and interesting climb. Views on the way up/down, total whiteout on top- very cold. glad to have a compass, crampons, etc...

During the BMC International Meet 2009  Sucess!

We climbed to the summit on Indicator right hand (V,5) and than descended to do Smith's route (V,5). Although it was to warm (the ice was melting very fast!) we had a great day of climbing. Climbed with Dave Sykes during the BMC International Meet 2009.

ben nevis  Sucess!

Was there in summertime and also in the winter. Two different worlds. In wintertime we climbed central and comb gully with a guide. Summertime was only the red burn but we camped on the summit... Yes we dragged all that stuff up there.

Epic winter treat (twice)  Sucess!

First time a real long day, climbed from the Glen Nevis YHA, skirted around the bottom of the cliffs to the CIC hut, crossed the streams and contoured around the side of Carn Mor Dearg. Gained the crest of the ridge someway to the north in detereorating weather conditions and headed south to the summit of Carn Mor Dearg. Crossed the CMD Arete in high wind and increasingly heavy snow. Then onto the Ben in deep snow, where we got the summit to ourselves. Descended via the tourist track.

Second time the day started well as we ascended The Ben via No. 5 Gully (easy but fun grade I winter). Had real trouble breaking through the cornice at the top, as as we were doing so the weather changed for the worse. Finally managed to break through very cold, and made a quick escape down towards the tourist path.

Route Climbed: Standard tourist one  Sucess!

It was my first "real summit", we were really happy to reach the top. Long walk in the fog it was. And the most crowded hike I have ever seen.

Route: Tourist Route  Sucess!

Another traditional ascent of the Ben. Cloudy and rain all the way up. Zero visibility on top. Rain and cloud all the way back down... But we'd do it again (but a different route!)
