Big Bad Rock, Lone Peak summit ridge.

Big Bad Rock, Lone Peak summit ridge.

This photo shows the current conditions on the Lone Peak summit ridge. Seen in the foreground is the Big Bad Rock, a large tilting mass of rock which offers a nice obstacle during winter and spring ascents. The past two ascents up there over the last week have had a bit of snow deposited from the previous series of storms about two weeks back. Lots of melted run off, being ice in the morning which makes things interesting. The fun part of this particular ascent/descent was sliding down the ramp seen, and seeing a ton of deer near Enniss Peak in the dark early morning hours on the ascent. I had the whole mountain to myself the entire time on this one... Lone Peak ascent #25 for the year, October 23, 2013.
