Destroy All Rock CairnsPlease people destroy all rock cairns you come across; not only are they extremely disturbing to most visitors but they are against the law 36 CFR 261 10(a) a $300.00 fine "Constructing, placing, or maintaining any kind of structure . . . on National Forest Service land . . . without special use authorization, contract, or approved operating plan. I ask why do you build rock cairns when they leave such a horrible trace that you have been there and are very disturbing to so many other users that come after you? Re: Destroy All Rock CairnsPersonally, I don't build cairns and don't have much of an opinion of them, but I understand your point. As Devil's Advocate, if a rock cairn is a structure under said law, would I not be in violation of the law by destroying it (maintaining any structure)?
