I added a note to my summit log about Big Lookout being #16 on the Oregon Prominence peak list. Bob, Dennis and I had done Dixie Butte and Vinegar Hill earlier in the day and went on to do Rock Creek Butte and Elkhorn peak the next. This is really a great viewpoint and I'm glad to see you add it to SP.

The 920 ft. climb covers a horizontal distance of 0.4 mi. if one ignores the road and climbes the slopes.

There is a campground

With a vaulted toilet and pump style cistern about a mile from the gate at the bottom of the mountain. It looks new, I cant remember the name other than it was "something" diggings. It doesnt show up on any of the maps I have, but it was a nice little green spot hidden under the big conifers.
