No sheep on this warm day in June, but a fun hike anyway.
Saw one bighorn as I was working my way down from the summit. S/he didn't seem too concerned about my presence.
I have yet to see any bighorn in this area.
with Cucamonga and Ontario
Summited on the way to Ontario Peak from Icehouse Canyon with three other hikers. Beautiful day, a bit cold and windy at times, but pretty calm on the peak itself.
up to ontario peak, across to bighorn, x-c down to icehouse saddle, back down the canyon. fun trip.
Post holing the entire way from from IHS
Single day winter solo.
Up from Icehouse TH on a random leg stretch.
tagged as part of my hike to ontario from icehouse. pretty cool summit, although its big and hard to find the actual register/summit.
Climbed as part of hike described in trip report where Ontario, Bighorn, Cucamonga and Telegraph Peaks climbed together.
Short but healthy few hundred feet from the saddle with Ontario. Trees block most of the southern and eastern views from the top. Not one of my favorite summits.
A beautiful day for a hike and some snow climbing. Used crampons from the Saddle up the direct ridge to the summit.
Was going to hike Cucamonga, but changed my mind and headed over to Bighorn, Ontario and Sugarloaf instead. Nice clear day
Steep short scramble from Cucamonga. Glad I went to Ontario after, wouldn't want to go back down the same way.
Nice scramble up from the Cuca/Bighorn saddle, peak 3 of 4 for the day.
Had the summit to myself. Not many people on a Thursday. Got this on the way back from Ontario. Looks like following the ridge past the peak would lead to the Cucamonga peak trail. going to have to try and loop these together
Another beautiful spring day in Southern California with very few people on the trails early Sunday Morning.
Tagged Ontario and Bighorn on an overnight in Icehouse Canyon. Great area.
Hiked to Bighorn Peak as part of my 11 peaks day hike.
