This year summer is late, still lot of snow in lower elevation, but above tree line story was different. Overall, nice small hike with some stunning views of Gore Range.
Keyser Creek and Kinney Creek roads both closed for the season still, but left the car around 4pm and hiked up Kinney Creek road then trail up to the ridge. Nobody around. Turned around on the ridge and before the summit because of snow/dark.
With 12763, Mount Nystrom, 12686, 12580, Saint Louis Peak & 12420.
Took the Kinney Creek trail to St Louis Divide trail, up Bills, then out and back to Byers and another out and back to PT 12686 A. A windy day, seemed the wind was always in my face no matter which direction I was going, but luckily the temps were good. Great views in this area of the Gore and IPW!
Wife, pup and I on a nice loop of the area from Byers Peak Trailhead.
I was passing through Granby right as the killdozer started, but nonetheless. Climbed this one summers ago during a boring afternoon.
