Theodore Roosevelt National Park continues to surprise me: it looks very barren to the human eye, but it supports an incredible amount of wildlife. Unlike South Dakota's badlands, North Dakota's badlands have lots of grass and junipers. This bison is symbolic of the area. May 2010.
