Bison on the Ridge

Bison on the Ridge

One of two I encountered at fairly close range on the southwest slopes of Druid Peak. Keep a safe distance from bison and do not underestimate them; they can outrun people and have harmed and killed many people by goring and trampling. Because they are unpredictable, more numerous than bears are, and typically found in places where there is no good cover if a charge occurs, they are arguably more dangerous than bears are, including grizzlies.
