Climber's Trail
Did the quick hike to the top via the climber's trail. Great views for comparatively little effort. This mountain's profile is readily identifiable from a great deal of summits in southwestern Montana.

Black Butte
Easy enough of a hike with quite a view in all directions. Very prominent, very easy to spot.

Solitary, Irresistable
Indeed a very prominent peak in a range that has no other sharp peaks around. I camped at the foot of the mountain just off the road. The several driving approaches are all very scenic.

ProminentCamping trip along the Gravelly Range, Ruby Valley, and Alder Gulch roads. Summited with a group of around six on a bluebird morning.

Sticks out like a sore thumbA quick and easy must-climb if you are driving the Gravelly Range Road. Great views if its not too smoky!
