Mount Elbert - South Ridge
Black Cloud Trail was awesome. My friend and I started at 4am and were the first people to reach the summit from Black Cloud (one other hiker summited before us via the standard route). Took us around 6.75 hours rt.
I took this route on a bluebird day, so luckily I was able to leave the trailhead at 8:00 AM and summit just before noon. The ten miles felt much longer than that, likely due to the steepness of the trail. The trail from South Elbert to Elbert was somewhat difficult to follow over the scree at times. My dog made it to the summit with me, and we were back down by 2:00 PM.

To the Top of the Rockies
Took the Black Cloud Trail up on my first 14-er! Beautiful trail, would absolutely recommend!!
