It was a hot summer day after the heavy el nino that ended only weeks before. I could hear and see powder avalanches pouring off the slopes of Bloody that gets its' name from the reddish color of the metamorphic rock. Bloody Mtn. 12,544', Laurel Mtn. 11,812', "Duck Lake Peak" 12,077' back right. June '98
