Clintonia Borealis on the slopes of Mt Moosilauke
The fruit is not edible. Sources differ but several call it "somewhat poisonous." I have not found any info about the nature of the toxin, but have heard anecdotes of children becoming ill after mistaking these for blueberry. One source mentions that the leaves are edible as salad, if anyone can confirm this please let me know.
