Bohemian  Sucess!

Nice trail hike with beautiful views in all directions. Trail crew has done some nice rock work on some sections. At least ten major volcanoes in sight. Champion Creek Rd is signed as unmaintained and I used NF2212.

Awesome  Sucess!

Great short hike with the family. The whole area is very cool. I came down Champion Creek Rd, which was rocky, but a very scenic drive. Love all the mines all over.

300th Summitpost Summit  Sucess!

With Jim and Luna. Huge horseflies at the TH (and mosquitoes) and some snow still on the trail (nothing much). Great blue sky day with almost no clouds. Could see Shasta, McLoughlin, Diamond Peak, Three Sisters and all up to Hood. Warm day. Ended up taking the wrong road down (goes down direct to Culp Creek) and the first 5-6 miles are steep and very rough. Had to downshift to 1st gear as the brakes were starting to stink and get spongy. Just when I was starting to wonder if we made a bad mistake, we came to pavement. Whew!

South ridge to summit  Sucess!

Checked out ghost-town of Bohemia City & followed an old trail (in surprisingly good shape) up to the SE over Jackass Ridge. Trail abruptly ended in a clear-cut. Dropped down to a logging road below and followed it around to - and then up the southern ridge of Bohemia Mtn. Fun scramble. No difficulties. Descended the standard trail... Er - this trail is rated "most difficult"???

I have made many visits  Sucess!

I have not made the trip in years but use to go up there often in late eighties early nineties. I witnessed my only couger sighting, visited my first ghost town, explored mine shafts and actually climbed the face of Bohemia. i have spent a moment are two on nearby Fairview Peak with it's fine lookout.

Trail from saddle  Sucess!

Drove up one night after work when I lived in Roseburg. Nice little hike, needs to be longer. Started to head down the hill to the ghost town, but heard some wierd noises so I decided I wasn't really interested.

Last sunny day  Sucess!

Made it up the last sunny day of the year. All the major volcanos from Hood to Shasta visible. Drove up Champion Cr. Road and was disappointed to find it graded and smooth. Clean-up at Champion Mine in progress.

Some Trail  Sucess!

This was actually a pleasant little trail and a decent looking mtn. But it isn't much of a hike, the drive from the interstate took longer than the hike. Limited views with the clouds that were out on this day.

Short hike, long drive.  Sucess!

Eric and I car camped in our vehicles at Bohemia saddle but the drive takes an hour to get there with close to 40 miles of road drving. I took the unmaintained road and while it stunk, it was shorter. Nice hike but no views thanks to the fog.

Trail from saddle  Sucess!

On our way home from climbing Diamond Peak that morning, Chris Verdugo and I drove the backroads over to Bohemia Saddle and hiked the trail to the summit. Fantastic views of the west side of the Cascades.

Hiked with my bro'  Sucess!

My brother Luke and I made the trip out into the far reaches of the Calapooya to climb this P2K peak and check out the mining wreckage in the area. Awesome view, Huckleberries were delicious. We spent more time eating Huckleberries and exploring caves than actually hiking.
