I just got back from a two night backpack trip up to the Boulder Creek Lakes. Your description of the area is dead on. It is truely an awe inspiring place!
Thanks. I appreciate the input. Did you happen to go to where the outlet pours off the cliff into the area below the lake? When I was last there, there was evidence of a pot irrigation network. We notified the rangers and I heard from a friend the removed a bunch of stuff from the area.

InterestingNo, I did not make it over to that outlet.
I did run into both a CHP and a Ranger on the road up to the trailhead though. So maybe something is still going on up there?
