Breccia Arch

It's not just among the sandstone of the Southwest that one can find arches. In the Wyoming Absarokas, breccia often erodes to form pinnacles and windows. This one is on the slopes of the southern Southeastern Pinnacle Butte. Two Ocean Mountain is in the background, and in the far distance, maybe best seen with the picture enlarged, are the Grand Teton and Mount Moran. Absaroka Range, WY-- August 2011
