Cool trail

And I mean that literally and figuratively.



So tell me why the trail was built as a tunnel here? Something to do with mining? Or was there no other way to pass the trail through the ravine?

From the looks of it, there is no practical way around this falls due to the exceptionally high cliffs in the area. The tunnel serves to protect hikers from the considerable volume of water and also affords passage in winter that would otherwise be blocked by ice. (At least in a "normal" winter!) Just my guess but it seems reasonable - of course, it also makes for a unique and most picturesque view!
