Brodiaea (Brodiaea douglasii)

Brodiaea is a common wildflower in grasslands and open forests of much of the west. This flower was photographed in the Salmon River Canyon in July 2009.

Name change!

While I much prefer the name you have chosen, it is not called Triteleia grandiflora var grandiflora. To me it is still Douglas' Brodiaea

Yes, the name has been changed along with a couple 100 others. I learned with Hitchcock and still follow that in casual conversation. It allows better communication in general. If I were doing a formal report or something, then I use the most current recognized names.
