But, are there cave monsters?

These are "petrified sand dunes" of long ago. Iron, magnesium, and other minerals in the rock have dyed the stone into its palette of fiery hues. Although difficult to see in this harsh landscape, you have a chance of seeing lizards, ravens, antelope, ground squirrels, coyotes, black-tailed jackrabbits, roadrunners, tortoises, foxes, bighorn sheep or an eagle soaring overhead. You might even see some rock climbers on these rocks. But, you won't see any cave monsters! Sorry 'bout that. Photo was taken in the heart of the Redstone Dunes in Southern Nevada's Lake Mead NRA.
